Phyllis Harbinger, ASID, CID has been running Design Concepts/Interiors, LLC, her own design firm, since 1993, servicing both commercial and residential clients in the New York Metropolitan area. She is as comfortable working on a suburban residence as she is in sleek, modern city apartments. In fact, the combination of commercial and residential projects creates a spark that fuels her creativity. Ms. Harbinger is also a Certified Feng Shui Practitioner, which enables her to integrate Eastern methods, theories of design and balance into her practice. She is NCIDQ certified a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers and a New York State Certified Interior Designer. Currently, the firm is working on two 9000 sq. foot residential projects and just completed a makeover of a room for a teenager in remission from Cancer who is unable to leave home for college next year. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Westchester County sponsors the project. She was also one of the participants in the ASIDNYMetro/Scarsdale Womans Club Designer Show house in May 2005. Her work will appear on Designer's Challenge this Spring as the winning designer for a Country French Dining Room in Chappaqua, NY. In 2004, Phyllis became a member of the ASID New York Metro Areas Board of Directors and will continue to serve on the board until 2007. Ms. Harbinger is a New York State Certified Instructor and an Adjunct Professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology where she currently instructs first year Studio Design courses.
