Istruttiva means “enlightenment” in Italian. We help clients connect with their own enlightenment through inspired design that is functional, personally meaningful, and visually stunning. We work within your budget to design one room or a complete structure, either residential or commercial. Most importantly, we listen carefully to understand your personality and develop the aesthetic that will be most gratifying and enlightening for you.

Zivit Etzioni is the owner and principal of Istruttiva Design, an acclaimed four-year-old interior design firm based in New York that creates inspired, mood-enhancing, but completely functional interiors for both residential and corporate customers.

Highlights of the Istruttiva Design portfolio of work include the full renovation of a 2,000-square-foot, $3.9 million condominium at New York City’s UN Trump Plaza, the redesign of several rooms in a luxury home on St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands, the design of a 14,000-square-foot corporate office space on Fifth Avenue, and the renovation and design of a second UN Trump Plaza condominium. All of these projects reflect Zivit’s strong understanding that different rooms in one structure may call for different themes, depending on the use of the room and the personality of the owner. Rather than imposing a single style or theme on a project, she may meld different ones together to satisfy clients’ completely unique needs.

In addition to designing overall interiors, Zivit also specializes in commissioning the design of furniture and accessories such as door knobs and ceiling panels to add to the individuality of her clients’ interiors. She has a wide network of contacts in the home products manufacturing industry.

Prior to opening Istruttiva Design, Zivit worked as an interior designer for Lowery Interior Design and Perkins Eastman Architects, both in New York City, and for Kastiel in Tel-Aviv, Israel. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from New York Institute of Technology with a major in Interior Design.

Her design work for the Harlem United Showroom while at Lowery Interior Design was published in The New York Times, and more recently she has been featured in articles in Architectural Systems Inc., Haute Living and New York Institute of Technology Magazine. As part of the United Nations International Year of Older Persons Initiative, she presented on the topic of interior design to meet the needs of an aging population.

Zivit is an accomplished fine-arts painter with a passion for creative expression in multiple media and forms. She prides herself on collaboratively working with clients to identify their unique tastes, preferences, personality, and goals, all the while completing projects on time and within budget. Zivit’s interiors reflect an appreciation for diverse styles, genres, and textures. She looks forward to understanding your needs, desires, and dreams for your interior spaces.
