My approach is based on a respect for the individual character of each space and to create interiors that are appropriate for the situation and that serve the needs of the Client.
Todd Haley has pioneered his own brand of high-style rooms that paradoxically exude relaxed opulence and low-key glamour.
The space is analyzed considering architectural detailing, dimensions and light; then the Clients tastes, living habits, existing possessions and interests are evaluated. The collective findings are blended into the finished design not coincidentally, producing work that manages to score high on aesthetics while proving to be exceedingly livable.
Completed projects include several residences in New York City ranging from studio apartments to floor-through residences; in Telluride Colorado, a ski retreat with an urban edge; in Naples and Fisher Island Florida, residences that acknowledge the locale while managing to sidestep the expected cliches; Vie restaurant - named one of the top 40 restaurants in the US by Gayot and several residences in Chicago and select areas of the North Shore.
Current projects in Chicago include various residences and also offices in the West Loop area for a repeat Client. Haley is looking forward to working on a residence in Rome, Italy which will combine iconic, vintage pieces from designers Harvey Probber and Gio Ponti.
In addition to being the recipient of the Fashion Group International's Style Makers and Rule Breakers award, Haley has been a guest speaker for The New York Times Design Seminars at The Architectural Digest Home Design Show in New York City both in 2009 and 2010. His work has also been published nationally.
