Great architecture is the result of a confluence of skill, creativity and passion. It's about invigorating our buildings with a spirit expressing our unique time and place. Despite our culture's fascination with virtuality, our physical surroundings, whether natural or man-made, remain incredibly powerful, with a sensual richness and a reassuring permanence that directly impacts the quality of our day-to-day experiences. Architects are unique in our dedication to creating meaningful spaces for our real lives, giving honest form to our institutions, families, and businesses.

For nearly three decades Collaborative Design Architects has helped our clients explore, focus and realize their building goals. The breadth of our experience enables us to quickly respond to a wide range of architectural challenges including difficult sites, unusual technical requirements, older buildings, restrictive budgets and insane time constraints. Common to all of our projects is the client's desire for intelligent solutions exhibiting aesthetic and technical excellence with a strict adherence to established budgets and schedules. We consistently meet these goals as evidenced by the remarkable number of clients returning to us for additional projects. We thank our clients for inviting us into their world and allowing us to exceed their expectations.

In addition to aesthetics, economics, and functional fitness, every project is now judged by how efficiently and elegantly it uses the world's resources. We are committed to creating smaller environmental footprints for our buildings by employing design strategies and building techniques that reduce energy consumption and promote the repurposing of materials. We recommend appropriate sustainable strategies to all of our clients regardless of whether LEED Certification is a project goal or not. Our suggestions result in both short and long-term savings. Our approach to sustainability is rooted in the essential nature of the site, the building's orientation, the intelligent selection of materials, and the integration and articulation of building systems and technologies. We incorporate natural and passive systems knowing that the best buildings have the fewest moving parts. We design to collect the sun's warmth in winter, harness cooling breezes in summer, and manipulate daylight and natural ventilation to reduce energy use. Each building is connected to its context on a local, regional, and global basis. By minimizing the negative impact of what we build we seek to become better ancestors for future generations.
