I am a firm believer in working diligently and continuously throughout the process to find the perfect balance between color, materials, flow, personal aesthetic. Once balance is achieved, the design is complete.

Biography

In 1999, Jason was working as a market researcher for a local Portland firm when he and his wife, Julie, purchased a small home in NE Portland built in 1908. A previous owner had tried unsuccessfully to modernize the home, but in the process removed the character and replaced it with thin baseboards, gray carpet and white walls, rendering the home not very interesting or comfortable. Jason and his wife launched into a full-scale remodel/restoration in 2001 with the intent of brining back some of the period like wood floors, custom millwork and age appropriate light fixtures. But in true Jason style, he also brought in some contemporary feel through furniture and artwork.
Through this process Jason fell in love with the design and remodeling process, and in 2004 started JASON BALL interiors - an interior design firm dedicated to improving interior environments for home owners across Oregon and Washington. Since starting JBi, Jason has been devoted to learning the interior design craft, serving his clients and growing the firm. Now with multiple newspaper and magazine articles, and several awards for his designs, Jason is on the path to becoming one of Portland's designers to watch.
In working with a broad range of clients, Jason has learned that we all want to be surrounded by a space that truly reflects our personality. You may not know the specifics of what you're looking for, but through an extensive "discovery" phase, Jason will uncover the design aesthetics that most appeal to you. There may be a piece of artwork or some knick knack that you're especially drawn to or a decorative plate from your Mother that can be the catalyst for an entire design.
