Designer Jeffrey Fisher is the principal designer for his firm, Jeffrey Fisher Home in Toronto, Ontario. Jeffrey and business partner, sister Deborah Fisher, travel the world for inspiration to create unique design solutions of exceptional quality.
Jeffrey began his design career in fashion working for Canada's preeminent eveningwear designer Wayne Clark. It wasn't long before Jeffrey struck out on his own with the debut of his first collection in the fall of 1991. The collection was featured in two major national magazines, Flare and on the cover of Chatelaine. Merging his talent for fashion design and love of the theatre, Jeffrey joined the costume department at Livent where he worked on the hit Broadway musicals Showboat and Ragtime. It was while working with the legendary Diahann Carroll, star of Sunset Boulevard that Jeffrey discovered his talents for interior design. 'Diahann invited me to help decorate her dining room in New York City and it was there that I realized my true passion for interiors' enthuses Jeffrey.
Next stop was India, Hong Kong and Bali where Jeffrey designed his first Jeffrey Fisher Home Collection, an outstanding line of luxurious bedding, table linens and fine shell accessories. His label premiered at the Los Angeles Design Center in January 2000 when sister, Deborah Fisher, owner of her own advertising agency, joined the family firm. Shown at The New York Gift Show, Highpoint, N.C., Dallas and Atlanta their successful line was picked up by several major U.S. retailers including Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Storehouse and Gumps. Sex and the City fell so in love with Jeffrey Fisher Home's designs that they featured them in The Post-It Always Sticks Twice episode in 2003.
