Barbara Schlattman, FASID, principal of Houston-based Barbara Schlattman Interiors, Inc., has been designing residential and commercial interiors for 25 years. A successful designer must be a good listener, flexible, open to new ideas, and must utilize her creativity to make each project unique and special. Barbara's firm offers complete project management and dedicated service.
Barbara's ability to plan space, her creative use of architectural elements, and her attention to detail from floor to ceiling have made her an award-winning designer. She has received numerous awards in the ASID/Houston Chronicle Interior Design Contest and one of her projects won first place in the National ASID Projects Awards.
Barbara's projects and articles have been featured in many publications, such as The Wall Street Journal, Unique Homes, Ladies' Home Journal, Kitchens and Baths, L.A. Times, and Contemporary Stone Designs.
Promoting professionalism and education among other designers has always been very important to Barbara. She has given speeches and organized programs for interior designers around the country. She also has been interviewed by Radio America on how interior designers can be of greater service to their clients.
Barbara has served the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) as chapter president, and held positions on the national board of directors, the national executive committee, and the leadership task force committee. ASID honored Barbara by naming her a fellow of the society.
