In addition to having her Bachelors and Masters, she studied with the National Guild of Hypnotherapists and earned advanced clinical certification. Again, after several years of study Norma became a Master practitioner of Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP). She claims this to be one of the best things she ever learned. NLP for those not familiar is a powerful technology that uncovers how we think, learn and make decisions.
Norma is a frequent contributor to various newspapers and magazines. For several years she wrote a design column and still freelances for the Asbury Park Press. Norma also holds seminars for realtors on such topics as "How to Neutralize Your Home for Resale" and "How to Maximize your Communication Skills using NLP". In addition Norma is contemplating writing a book about her behavioral approach to design.
She was awarded the Rene Baron Hennessy Memorial Award for Design Excellence from ASID. Norma also frequently volunteers to work with future designers and the local schools.
Based in Freehold, NJ, the Collaborative Design Group provides full interior design services. Norma is a New Jersey Board Certified Interior Designer and a NJ Registered Home Inprovement Contractor. Established 1985, Collaborative Design Group is fully insured (Business Owners, Workman's Compensation, Vehicle, etc.) and properly licensed. We strive to maintain a professional and ethical organization.
Even though she received her design education from the New York School of Interior Design, it was her training as a teacher that proved to be invaluable when Norma Pofsky entered the world of interior design.
Her philosophy of incorporating a client's behavioral needs and wants into the design of their home has been the cornerstone of her success.
