Joel Kelly Design was established in 1998 with a firm-philosophy predicated on the idea that collaborating with clients produces far greater results than simply designing for them. No matter the aesthetic, each project is finely tailored to the individual. Joel Kelly Design thinks of themselves as the Master Editor for each project, finding the implicit theme of the client's varied tastes and desires. This dynamic designer-client relationship concept has produced numerous projects displaying a wide range of styles, from classic to contemporary. With equal emphasis on architecture and interior design, the firm is able to realize a singular vision for a residence. Additionally, their collaborations with other architects and interior designers have produced exceptional results as the talents of the various firms magnify each other&rsquos shared passions.
Joel's formal training included education at Georgia Tech and Princeton University, as well as a stint at the Ecole De Beaux Arts in Paris. Working under Michael Graves immediately following school put him in the thick of a well-known firm at an early age, giving him invaluable experience that he carries to this day. Recent honors include the 2015 Gold Award from ASID Georgia Chapter and the "Best in Show" Residential Award for the same project. Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles named one of our projects Kitchen of the Year in 2015. In 2013 they received the Shutze Award in Interior Design and a Silver Award from the ASID Georgia Chapter. Other distinctions include being named one of the "Top 20 Under 40" by Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles in 2008 and one of the 50 most influential people in the Atlanta design community, again by Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles.
Joel's work has been included in the pages of Veranda, Traditional Home, The Atlantan, The Atlanta Journal and Constitution, Paper City, Décor Magazine, and Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles.
