The relationship between designer and client should be a partnership where ideas may be freely exchanged resulting in a room with ambience and charm unique to each client's personality
After spending two decades in bucolic New England, Karen Sugarman packed up her Newbury Street Office in Boston and joined the ranks of the lucky few who live in the Valley of the Sun. A veteran designer, Karen has participated in multiple Junior League of Boston Showhouses and has been featured on the covers of numerous shelter magazines and books, as well as national television.
Although a Southern transplant since 1980, Ms. Sugarman's notable use of color has been compared by her peers to that of another venerable New England decorator, Sister Parish. Her design is best expressed in a traditional venue from very formal and European to a more relaxed, elegant image and is widely know as gracious, nurturing and reflective of her client's personalities with a level of attention to detail that is unsurpassed. Although Karen's designs may look like they have leapt from the pages of Architectural Digest, her clients find working with her relaxing and delightful.
