Open Contemporary Kitchen by CHERYL VON TRESS
A bland 70's kitchen was transformed into a warm contemporary space with textural touches and natural elements. The combined kitchen and dining space was joined and enhanced visually through the use of bamboo flooring, espresso and praline nut finishes on the custom cabinetry. A 91" ceiling was overcome by removing a soffit and stretching cabinets to the ceiling and trimming in espresso for definition. Horizontal space was visually enhanced through a custom mirror hutch addition to grab and bounce light from the patio slider, adding a virtual window. Lumicor panels were used on pantry and cabinet doors to create openness and provide a layer of beauty. An amazing lighting plan and a woven grass window shade made the design complete.
