The new front entry, porch, windows and stone veneer not only give the house badly needed personality, but they also improve the use and energy efficiency. The doors are locally made, double pane insulated glass. The porch roof is standing seam metal, the windows Marvin Integrity fiberglass, and the siding was reused. The roof runoff was directed to a rain garden.
Inside, the ceramic tile floor has radiant heat controlled by a switched, programmable thermostat, LED directional spots and extremely durable FSC ipe stair treads. Both the stone veneer and cedar t&g is carried in from the exterior. The closet fits neatly into a leftover space from the previous garage addition.
