Casual Contemporary Living & Family Room by Garrison Hullinger
This basement bar is all about layers of pattern, starting with the original 1970s cranberry and orange barrel chairs with new nickel casters. To balance out their boldness, a wall of hand-stenciled painted off-white circles on gray mimic the roundness of the table and lamp. The pattern is repeated in a decorative box above the bar, which extends the sense of a collection that starts with the artisan glass and flea market finds artfully combined on floating shelving. Even small details, like the leopard print pillow and orange cashmere throw, add another instance of pattern and color.
