Best Sustainable Bathroom
Casual Contemporary Bathroom by Ines Hanl
Relying on sustainable components and materials such as locally-built white concrete trough sink with recycled glass content, non-VOC bamboo plywood cabinets - built on-site, and a wall-hung low flow toilet, this bathroom is well-suited to this space that appears to be floating over the lake beyond. The clients wanted dual access to the room so that it can be a guest bath as well as the bathroom to a workout space. Ambient floor heat originating from a geothermal heat pump, also used as the water heater provides technical support to the sustainable approach, and a lighting system on different circuits and dimmers offers greater control and less electricity. A mirror that extends to the ceiling reflects natural and artificial lighting and a skylight invites natural light.
