This foyer is the entry way to a suburban cape style house. The owners, a young family of 4 wanted a space that was sophisticated but still fun and inviting. They love color and we had a lot of fun designing with bolder hues. There was existing wainscoting which allowed us to use a bolder color on the upper half of the wall without overwhelming the space or creating a dark environment. The paint color is Benjamin Moore Ocean Floor, which is one of those colors that changes in the light - it is a great mixture of blues and greys. The main focus of the space is the red zebra needlepoint rug. It sets the tone of the space and really the house, it is sophisticated and chic but also casual and fun.
