Sophisticated kitchens have become essential in a home's architectural and interior design planning. Conceptualizing efficient work stations as well as creating an engaging gathering spot for family and friends was important in the overall purpose of this kitchen.

In this spacious floor plan, resourceful planning meant maximizing preparation areas, seating and storage options. The center island encompasses all three of these important elements. Adjacent to the standard 36" high work surface, 42" open bookcases provide accessible shelving for cookbooks, extra dishes or accessories. Perfect for a casual lunch, on the third level an integrated 30" tabletop offers ample room for three comfortable leather chairs.

This kitchen exceeds every benchmark for efficiency and aesthetics. Quarter sawn natural walnut cabinets with stainless vertical inserts are beautiful and abundant. Add Brazilian "Turbulence" granite countertops, handmade metallic glass tiles and "tea stained" acrylic and metal lighting and this kitchen becomes a homeowner's delight.
