The challenge here was that structurally we could not expand the area of this kitchen as the lot had no more space for us to utilize. Galley kitchens are actually very efficient to use when properly planned so given our limited square footage we embraced the linear space to make many needed improvements. One of the greatest improvements anyone can make is to bring in more natural light. As seen here we installed a new skylight between the range and sink to brighten the space. The 'pantry' wall was removed to also allow light from the back windows into the kitchen and give the illusion of greater amount of space.
