Open Contemporary Kitchen by Nuray Anahtar
This contemporary kitchen is located in an eighth floor split foyer condo in a high rise building on Mexico Avenue, in Washington DC with a spectacular view of the National Cathedral. The contemporary wenge finished and lacquered white Porcelanosa cabinets with clean lines, combined with all new appliances, white lacquered floors and white quartz countertops, gave the homeowners an open kitchen that overlooks the lower living room through glass railings. A new den was been created in place of the old kitchen to give the owners a cozy place to read and relax. They have their meals in their new sleek kitchen while simultaneously watching TV and enjoying the beautiful view.
It was our third time working with Linda and Jerry. Each time, we moved toward more contemporary design. We had just finished another condo design for them in the same building with light wood cabinets and orange accent paint color. We all wanted to use a different color scheme in the new one. We chose white lacquer finish wood floors and dark wood kitchen cabinets. Green accent color was unanimously selected to bring energy to otherwise very minimalistic color scheme.
