Charlotte Moss opened her New York City interior design company, Charlotte Moss & Co., in 1985, after a successful career on Wall Street. Since then, she has designed residences throughout the Unites States and in the Caribbean. Her work has been featured in over a dozen showhouses and has twice recieved HB awards. From 1985 through 1996, her New York City shop was internationally recognized as a unique source for fresh and eclectic home furnishings. Her home fragrance, "Virginia", is sold in shops around the country, and her decorative accessories and upholstered furniture are distributed nationwide.
Charlotte's books, products, and interior design have been featured in periodicals including Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, HG, British House and Garden, Town & Country, Victoria, Ladies Home Journal, and Hamptons Magazine, among others, and in many books. A popular speaker, Charlotte has appeared on television shows including Good Morning America and Style with Elsa Klensch, and on HGTV. Charlotte also gives lectures on design history and style across the country. Charlotte is a passionate lover of books whose own publications include A Passion for Detail, Creating a Room, and The Poetry of Home, an anthology of quotations about houses and design. Other loves—all of which influence her approach to interior decoration—include travel, gardening, and design history. Charlotte was born in Richmond, Virginia. Her Southern heritage has instilled in her an appreciation for eclecticism and comfort in design. These elements play an important role in her design philosophy. Charlotte lives with her husband, investment banker Barry S. Friedberg, in New York City; Easthampton, New York; and Aspen, Colorado.
