The overall design vision of Eric J. Schmidt Interiors is classic traditional with a twist.
With each design project, Eric Schmidt works closely with his clients to discover what it is they like most in their interior. This open exchange establishes the mood, essence, color, and attitude of the space. He then goes on to design an interior that stretches the imagination; a fresh approach to the familiar. In the end, it is most important that his clients find their interiors an extension of themselves: somewhere new and exciting, yet somewhere they call home. The result? A perfect blending of style and function for today's modern family.

Born in Bethlehem, PA, Eric Schmidt graduated with a degree in Economics from De Sales University. He worked as a menswear buyer for the venerable retail firm, B. Altman & Co., as well as Kmart Corporation, before moving to the garment industry where he worked designing apparel and textiles. After nearly 15 years in the apparel industry he decided to enter the world of interior design. Upon receiving his degree in Interior Design from the New York School of Interior Design, he established his namesake firm in 1995.
Eric is proud to have served on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). He was also honored twice to be a participating designer in the United Cerebral Palsy of NYC designer house tour, as well as later privileged to serve as the vice chairperson for the event. Eric is also delighted in his involvement with CCI, Canine Companions for Independence and with Furnish-a-Future: The Partnership for the Homeless.
