Against a backdrop of laminated bamboo, the monolith of concrete walls and counters unifies the composition of materials: rammed earth, stainless steel, zinc, plate steel, granite, and urethane. For the horizontal inlay on the face of the cooktop wall, the author made a mosaic from bits of broken tile and stone... As a variation on an integral sink, they created a long, narrow, tile-lined food prep trough.
