"There's a new freedom in decorating and design. Comfort and quality, modesty and clarity, and an appropriate tone are desired. A certain personality is evoked, one that isn't about show, but rather serves as an extension of an extension of an individual's lifestyle and taste. History has a place in the fresh and evocative spaces that capture the moment's long-lasting flavor, while stodginess has been struck from the agenda. Luxury for luxury's sake is no longer likable. One-note decorating has been replaced with a more eclectic approach.
"Edited, not excessive, the interior design of the 29 homes featured in New American Style share a subtle point of view. The individuals, professional architects, and designers responsible for the wide range of interiors featured acknowledge the surrounding landscape and inner context of the property itself, smoothly incorporate collections and personal items, and mix and match elements to provoke as well as soothe." |
