Imagine yourself on a private island resort in the Caribbean, sipping a refreshing beverage on the veranda as warm breezes drift past. When you retreat to your room, you are engulfed in a wash of melon-colored paint. Who's to say you can't bring this private haven into your home? It takes a bold hand and a sure sense of color to recreate this island aesthetic, but it is by no means impossible. This dramatic look doesn't eschew comfort, but achieving a room that is subdued enough to sleep in may take some experimenting with different shades of salmon. Rattan furniture, antiqued accessories, and indigenous artwork complete the picture. Arranging the tropical breezes may require a little more work...
