"It was designed to be interesting-looking without a lot of stuff in it you'll notice there aren't even any pictures on the walls," says Tate.
To create that interest inside, the Shackelford residence offers views in all directions, a deliberate attempt on the part of the architect to make a strong inside-outside connection between the house and the subtly landscaped rolling acreage. The shim-coated chimney and fireplace create a focal point for the living room.
