"Sometimes you have to create an architectural statement that looks like it was part of the original," says designer/builder Robert Young.
Arched doors and coved ceilings were retained even though it would have been cheaper to square them off. Moorish stencils done by artist Melanie Royals, wooden blinds, iron rods, and period lighting give the living and dining rooms a touch of old Hollywood.
