The oak panels shown here and throughout the home were carefully handselected by the owners for the look of the grain.
A local paint shop created a custom honey-toned stain for treating the wood. Inspired by a design that they had inherited in their previous Victorian home (a statue-cum-lamp of the mythical character Diana on the railing), the Hoopmans selected a prarie-style stained glass lantern to position on the Newell post in the stairwell of their Wisconsin home.
