Beaded board painted a crisp green and glass-front doors make for cottage-style cabinetry in Amy and Chris Krogh's pre-1850s Federal-style brick house.
Amy's use of yellow on the walls works great with everything, especially soft, faded reds and blues. For balance, she incorporated worn, mellow pine pieces such as a dresser or even a kitchen island, and painted the moldings white.
