Great American Homes: A Stone's Throw from Seattle

Great American Homes: A Stone's Throw from Seattle

Built in 1979, a one-story log home on Bainbridge Island is transformed into a little piece of paradise.

Inspired by the idyllic location, nature-loving homeowner Dan Klaue embarked on renovations to the original log kit home. His most dramatic addition is a two-way stone fireplace that serves as a focal point in the living room and opens onto a terrace for outdoor entertaining.

"Bainbridge Island is a perfect spot. At the end of the day, it's so nice to just get on the boat and leave everything behind."

–Dan Klaue, homeowner
