Some pulls are suitable for both drawers and doors; knobs can be used on both. Knobs typically attach at one point, while pulls attach at two points, allowing you to wrap your fingers around or under them. Pull rings or drop pulls are an exception; these attach at one point, and may have a plate or escutcheon base.

If you have exposed hinges, you'll want to select knobs and pulls that match, or at least complement, the hardware.
