The Scandinavians understood early on that the best remedy for cold, dark winters are luminescent interiors suffused with light. Scandinavian sky blues and tranquil pale yellows accented with white make no apologies for winter. Contrary to popular belief, smaller spaces painted in saturated or dark colors can transform even the most ordinary room. Finish floors and walls in similar shades and the room feels expansive. The smallest monochromatic space can sparkle like a jewel box.

White gloss plantation shutters and crisp, clear washes of color in the palest of shades take you to the sea year round. For a dazzling dose of Hollywood glamour, shimmering elegance can be achieved with dove gray, black lacquer, and oyster white played against pale pearlized pink, as masculine as it is feminine.
