Iron outdoor furniture is versatile, classic, and built to last. Different fabrication techniques produce the two types of iron outdoor furniture: wrought and cast. Wrought iron furniture is created with round bars that are forged by hand into complex or simple designs. There are many wrought iron finishes available today. Cast iron is heavy and generally ornate. It can weigh up to three times the weight of cast aluminum. To care for iron furniture, you should wash it occasionally, apply a wax once a year, and repair chips in the finish to prevent rusting. Iron furniture is extremely durable, and when cared for properly will last a very long time.
