Most whirlpools and air tubs are constructed of acrylic sheet, a lightweight and flexible material that warms quickly and offers a world of design options. Acrylic must be cared for with a non-abrasive cleanser and can scratch if treated harshly. From a freestanding Victorian to the classic oval, whirlpools come in a variety of sizes and styles to fit many design installations. Cast iron, the sturdier choice, offers a much harder finish but is limited in the color and models available. Other materials such as wood, glass, and stainless steel make interesting and unique design statements.
