Cynthia has written extensively on lifestyle, interior design, architecture and the arts. She began her writing career when she won the 'Mademoiselle' Magazine Guest Editor Competition in college. She earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from Wayne State University and worked for 'House & Garden' Magazine as a young writer in New York City. She discovered when she lived in Soho that she enjoyed the challenge of transforming a raw industrial space into a home and she renovated four lofts in four years there.
Cynthia later moved to Los Angeles to work on feature film visual effects for Disney Studios. Although she grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, her family has roots in New Orleans and Alabama and she currently lives in a home on the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay. She has one son who is a bicoastal filmmaker.
