Show your vanity

Like any room, your bath benefits when there's a focal point. If your bathroom lacks a fancy centerpiece tub, turn attention to the vanity with a fresh coat of paint or a handsomely framed mirror above.

If the existing vanity isn't worth saving, consider retrofitting a vintage dresser or sideboard to accommodate a sink in the top and wall plumbing through the back. A dresser-turned-vanity introduces inviting furnished flair as well as additional storage. If your dresser is slightly elevated on legs—even better. When flooring remains visible from wall to wall, your bathroom appears more spacious.
