Use Tile to Make Your Shower Stand Out

By Tiffany Adams

Although utilitarian in nature, showers can be one of the most outstanding features in a bath—especially when tile is used as art. Materials, including glass, slate, and traditional ceramics, are equally as important as placement and the pattern in which the tiles are laid. Browse the baths featured here for ideas to make your own shower spectacular.

Classic Combo

The placement of these basic tiles makes the design pop. Classic ceramic tiles in a mix of aquamarine and lime green cover the floor and backsplash in a seemingly random yet eye-catching pattern. The flooring continues into the shower to create a seamless transition from one area of the bath to the other. In the shower, white ceramic subway tiles—another timeless choice—run from the floor to the ceiling and stand in striking contrast to the colorful floor.
