The quarried version of this marble originates from a group of marbles found in the ancient Luni area in Tuscany, which is now Carrara, Italy. Named for the artistic genius himself, Michelangelo Statuario is considered to be the most prized of its group and features a translucent, pure white background with slender grey veins of varying intensity appearing in random fashion from slab to slab.
