Scott Grove

Polyidol is a combination of aboriginal-styled wood pedestals displaying a gem-encrusted top reminiscent of Tut’s jewelry, covered by a “fabric” sheet. The “sheet” is trompe l’oeil carved from a solid piece of domestic sycamore covering a relic-like alter of inlaid sterling silver and semi-precious gems of malachite, mother-of-pearl, onyx, lapis, goldstone, and others.
