Olinda Brown

Iris Design Studio Ltd.

Colours are synonymous with happiness and, therefore, this design was inspired by Olinda, the Brazilian city which hosts the most exuberant and colourful festivals in that part of the world. The Olinda series perfectly captures the illusion of ornate brilliance. When hung, as designed, from the ceiling, viewers are convinced that they are seeing an entire, ornate chandelier. However, what truly exists is only the fa├žade in front of inexpensive neon light. Olinda calls on the onlooker to reassess > MORE his or her perceptions, and to perhaps look beyond what, at first sight, seems simple or obvious. Olinda can be used as a ceiling or wall ornament.
