Inside Track Collection


With a design inspired by Manhattan's High Line Park and the broader cultural trend of revitalizing and re-purposing unused railroad lines, this new collection of textiles captures the contrast between nature and industry. Because their Manhattan-based studio is just a few blocks east of the High Line, Mary Holt, Executive Vice President of Design for Carnegie, along with her team, experienced the transformation of New York's abandoned elevated rail line first hand in the spring and summer of > MORE 2009. The team found a great deal of inspiration in the ways in which the existing railroad lines created a new urban setting for running, walking, and cycling and in the unique juxtaposition between the High Line's lush greenery and its modern and contemporary aesthetic. Holt and her team used this inspiration as an impetus to create Inside Track, a collection that introduces spun post-consumer recycled polyester yarns that are bleach-cleanable and stain-resistant.^ LESS
