The ancient Roman city of Ostia was in antiquity situated at the mouth of the Tiber, 30 Kilometers to the west of Rome.
The original of this masterfully handmade mosaic laid as the floor tile of a dining room of the Caseggiato di Bacco e Arianna. It depicted vines and birds, and, in the back, a gorgoneion, head of Medusa, and winged figures.
Its design, perfected by Gnosis brings intricate and delicate lines.
