"We're in the narrative business," says Michael Maharam, who runs the New York-based textile company with his brother Stephen. With Agency (2009) by Sarah Morris, Maharam explores the story of turning a work of art into design. Based on a painting that is included in the MoMA's permanent collection ¿ and part of the artist's larger body of work entitled Los Angeles ¿ Agency speaks to the urban, architectural landscape of iconic buildings that create the identity of Los Angeles.
