Mies van der Rohe- Day bed

This is an reproduction of the popular Mies van der Rohe Day Bed or Sofa. This design was first introduced and recognized as a signature modernist furniture model in architect Phillip Johnson¿s New York apartment. We manufacture this daybed using Italian top grain, 100% aniline-dyed leather, hardwood frame, leather belting and stainless steel legs.
The frame is constructed from premium grade hardwood - 1.5" x 4" thick - with a choice between walnut stained medium brown, walnut stained rosewood, or ash with an ebonized black stain. The stainless steel legs are hand-polished to a high luster mirror finish and are 1.5 inches in diameter. The size and geometry of the frame is true to the Mies van der Rohe original design. The "bed" consists of individual leather panels - each piece is cut and hand-sewn with attentive detail. Inside the bed cushion is high resilient - high density polyurethane foam. The cushion is supported by heavy saddle leather straps screwed to the frame and whose top match upholstery color. The bolster pillow is attached with buckled straps and is 7 inches in diameter by 36 inch long.
