The quarried version of this stone comes from the top of the Andes in South America. It is light to dark blue in coloration and possesses silicates of aluminum and sodium. Over 500 years ago this stone was mined by the Incas and is still popular today for making handcrafted products. Only recently has this quarried stone been extracted for slab processing.
