Around the House: His and Her Spaces

By Tiffany Adams

It's no secret that in design, certain elements can lend a distinctively masculine or feminine feel. Men often identify with brawny rooms with strong lines, moody hues, and industrial accents. On the other hand, women can tend toward bright or pastel palettes, intricate details, and pieces with curvature. His Living Room

A dark palette—featuring navy, brown, and tan—sets a moody, almost mysterious tone for this bachelor's living room. Contemporary furnishings with straight-lined contouring and generous sizing invite lounging and relaxing. What's more, an expansive view of the great outdoors serves as the room's ever-changing focal point.
