This is what most of us picture when we think of an outdoor deck. Typically, traditional decks are fashioned from stained or polyurethaned woods, such as redwood or cedar, or a wood-look composite. They usually have a straightforward square or rectangular design. Railings may be simple or feature a familiar motif such as lattice or Chippendale.
