Carve out space

You don't need a lot of space to fit in a home office—a sliver of a room will do. Locate a desk in one corner, for example, then add lighting and commandeer a few drawers for supplies in the entertainment center. With the sofa nearby, you've got a comfy spot to noodle ideas or work on your laptop. If you're especially short on space for a home office, consider purchasing a dual-function cabinet or armoire with a fold-down desk and storage inside.
