Paint cabinets

If cabinet doors, drawers, and box frames remain sturdy, give them a brand-new look with paint. Select one color for upper and base cabinets or distinguish them with two differing hues. You can also give an island focal-point status by setting it apart with color that coordinates or contrasts with perimeter cabinets. Draw attention to details such as beads, trim, and recessed panels by brushing on a dark glaze and rubbing it off with a clean cloth.

Chat with the professionals at the paint or home improvement store to find the best products for cleaning and preparing cabinet surfaces. Buy the best-quality brushes, rollers, primer, and paint (about $35 per gallon) that you can afford to ensure beautiful results and a long-lasting finish.
