All Together Now: Open-Concept Kitchens

Tear down the walls! Whether you reside in a high-rise condo or a suburban ranch-style home, open floor plans are the new normal—especially when it comes to kitchen and dining areas. The increased traffic flow, ease of conversation, and feeling of togetherness are just a few of the benefits you'll reap from the design. Creating a unified look is important when it comes to furnishing the space. See how these eight spaces use smart style elements to create a seamless flow.

Forest Feel

In any open-concept floor plan it's important to have a unifying factor. Wood tones abound in this spacious kitchen, dining, and sitting area. A similar wood grain is used on both the floor and the ceiling, giving the entire space a cozy, enveloped feel. Dark wood cabinetry pairs with mosaic glass tiles to keep the cooking area contemporary, while a faux bois wallpaper gives a similar nod to modernity in the living area and helps to maintain the design's woodland appeal.
