Casually Grand

Transitional and eclectic styles are seemingly contradictory looks that can pair well for dramatic effect. In this living room, splendid architecture—high ceiling, thick crown molding, and intricately adorned built-in cabinets—takes on a more relaxed and welcoming demeanor with some nonchalance added in. Strokes of sunny yellow in the abstract artwork repeat on ginger jars and lamp bases. Armloads of pillows make the sofa a cozy respite, while the blue-and-white striped ottoman begs time to kick back.
